Join instructor Ellen DeGenova, at the main branch park, to explore Tai Chi elements (without the complicated choreography). Tai Chi offers highly adaptable and accessible ways of moving for everyone. Being outdoors and learning together inspires a sense of well-being and community. A seated option is available. No experience necessary. In case of inclement weather, class will be held in the library’s Community Room.

As part of a national celebration of Public Works Week, the Department of Public Works (DPW) Commissioner John Nardone and other City officials recently honored the recipients of the 2026 Commissioner’s Award for Outstanding Performance. A Common Victualler License is issued by the Cambridge License Commission and governed by Massachusetts General Laws, Ch. 140, Sec. 2-9. Every food service establishment in the City of Cambridge with capabilities for cooking, preparing, and serving food is required to have a Common Victualler License.

On February 27, 2023, the Cambridge City Council adopted new zoning requirments to address the long term impacts of increased flooding and heat from climate change. They are based on the City's climate projections over the next 50 years and will be updated from time to time.

Last winter’s colder-than-normal temperatures sent gas heating bills soaring versus prior years. Now, following a proposed winter gas rate increase, the City of Cambridge is urging residents to act early to plan ahead and research how they can cut costs and prepare for colder weather.

Have you ever wanted to design your own custom nail set? Well come to the Library and dive into the world of nail art. Local licensed nail tech, Munah of Fine Geh Glam, will guide you in this fun and creative art class. You will learn about proper nail care and treatments and leave with a one-of-a-kind nail set of your own. All supplies will be provided by the Library.

Through the Hampshire Street Safety Improvement Project, the City will add separated bike lanes to Hampshire Street between Inman Square and Broadway, creating a more comfortable biking connection between Inman Square and the Port/Kendall Square. We will also make improvements to existing crosswalks and changes to parking and loading.

Overall Cambridge Arts and the City are distributing more than $300,000 to 60 artists, cultural organizations and grant reviewers via grants and stipends this year through three funding opportunities offered by Cambridge Arts: Organizational Investment Grants, Art for Social Justice Grants, and Local Cultural Council Project Grants.
