Join the Cambridge Public Library in celebrating Native American Heritage Month by welcoming Morgan Talty, author of the award-winning story collection, Night of the Living Rez, as well as the novel, Fire Exit, published just last summer. Fire Exit—which Booklist called "tender and heartbreaking" in a starred review—is a novel about family secrets and how they inform the stories we tell ourselves about who we are and where we live. After reading from his work, Talty will sit in conversation with Nina MacLaughlin, author or Winter Solstice, followed by a short audience Q&A and book signing. Registration is required.

People of all ages can kick off Summer Reading with games and a special art activity. No registration required.

It's creepy crawly week at the Library! Families with elementary school-age children join us for hands-on activities focused on Science, Technology, Arts, Engineering and Math. The Hastings Room Reading Series and the Cambridge Public Library are excited to welcome two award-winning poets to the Library for a poetry reading. Denise Duhamel and Martha Collins will both read from recent works. The reading will take place in the Main Library's Community Room at 7 p.m. on May 1, 2025.

Swap extra seeds, plants or harvested items from your garden at the Library (outdoors)! If you cannot bring anything you may still come to get supplies and enjoy activities. This program is open to people of all ages! No registration is required. In case of rain or bad weather this program will be inside the O'Neill Branch.
