Join us at Donnelly Field (behind the Valente Library) for a joyful celebration with musician and educator Otha Day! A Drum Circle is a highly interactive group of people who play drums and percussion instruments together to create in-the-moment music. Through the experience of rhythm and sound we experience what it means to beat as one heart: we become a vibrant community. This drum circle will include playful and accessible rhythm activities, games, traditional ensemble pieces, songs and most importantly, improvisation. No experience necessary; all ages can participate. No registration is required. In the event of rain, this program will move indoors to the Community Room of the Valente Branch. Funding for Vacation Week Programming: Live at the Library has been generously provided by the Cambridge Public Library Foundation.

Shayla Tate of M.U.D.D. Flower Yoga leads us through a 60-minute outdoor evening flow. Registration is preferred but not required. The Library will not provide any materials - please bring your own mat and whatever items are in your practice. In case of inclement weather, the event will take place in the Community Room.

Join us as we edit and create Wikipedia pages related to Black history, with a focus on Black Cantabrigians. We will use resources from the Library's Archives and Special Collections and the Black Voices Collection at the Central Square Branch. At this Wikipedia edit-a-thon, we'll work together to contribute to Wikipedia, focusing on expanding our knowledge of underrepresented groups. You might add to the information on an existing page, create a new one, find reliable sources for others to use, or copyedit and format a page. All experience levels welcome! You do not need to have experience editing Wikipedia to attend and contribute! Laptops will be provided. As part of our Black History Month celebration, the Peace Commission invites you to Step Into the World of Gospel Music through a special concert featuring the Millennium Gospel Choir, presented in partnership with the Cambridge Public Library. Gospel music is a foundational part of Black American history and culture. Emerging from the lived experiences of Black communities, gospel has long been a source of expression, resilience, storytelling, and collective joy. It has shaped American music far beyond church walls, influencing soul, jazz, R&B, hip-hop, and the popular music we know today. This concert is offered as a cultural and historical experience, highlighting gospel's role in the Black freedom struggle, community building, and artistic innovation. Through powerful vocals and rich musical traditions, the performance invites reflection on how music has carried hope, resistance, and connection across generations. Whether you are familiar with gospel or experiencing it for the first time, all are welcome to join us in honoring this enduring art form and its place in Black history.

We will be using library consoles to enjoy multiplayer games. This program is for families with children aged 7-13 and their caretakers. This program can accommodate 16 gamers. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis on the day of the program. The gamer must be present to receive a ticket. Join local artist, musician and educator Ben Cunningham for a transformative storytelling performance. This program is for children of all ages and their caregivers. No registration needed.

Learn how to create folders and organize your files on Google Drive! Google Drive is your online file storage that is connected to your Google account. You will learn how to use Google Drive to manage your files and images. A Google (Gmail) account is required for the class. Please remember your email address and password, you will need them to sign in and practice during the class. Laptops will be provided for the class. Join the Library, the Cambridge LGBTQ+ Commission, and YWCA Cambridge at the Central Square Branch to celebrate Banned Books Week. We'll have an all-ages storytime featuring challenged children’s books followed by a sampling of many frequently challenged and banned titles for all ages. Light refreshments.
