Join the Collins Branch Library in collaboration with the Cambridge Climate Leaders Initiative for a monthly discussion of a climate-related topic. Each month the group will discuss a book on the topic at hand then hear about a related local program or initiative and how you can take action. Topic: Community Resilience Documentary: This month we will be discussing the documentary, 2040 which is available on Kanopy and as a DVD. Cambridge promotes sustainable transportation through education, community workshops, planning, and infrastructure projects. Resident volunteers can provide input on transportation projects. The City is investing in Electric Vehicle infrastructure and adding more fully electric vehicles to its fleet.

The City of Cambridge Pandemic Collaborative is offering upcoming vaccine clinics using the Johnson & Johnson Vaccine. These clinics are free and open to all people 18 years of age and older who live and work in Cambridge.

Cambridge’s FY26 budget reflects moderate growth, with key increases supporting schools, salaries, preschool expansion, and public safety initiatives like body cameras.

E-cargo bikes help City staff maintain our urban canopy. During droughts and heat waves, E-cargo bikes transport equipment across Cambridge to water trees. Purchasing three new E-cargo bikes would expand the City’s ‘water-by-bike’ program.

Cambridge is a great city for walkers. It is compact and flat, it is well served by public transportation, and its mix of housing, stores, services, work places and parks means that many destinations are within easy walking distance.

Creating an outdoor volleyball court would be an exciting addition to the city, especially since there is not currently an outdoor court in all of Cambridge! The court would have sand and a sturdy net for three-season usage.
