This month, City Manager Louis A. DePasquale and his staff provided a high-level overview of the City's COVID-19 response. With Cambridge and Middlesex County both in the High COVID-19 Community Level category as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the City of Cambridge and Cambridge Public Health Department issued an advisory strongly recommending that residents wear masks when indoors outside the home and when around others.

The City of Cambridge will hold a low-cost rabies vaccination clinic for dogs only and its annual dog licensing event on Saturday, April 1, from 9-11 a.m., behind the Department of Public Works at 147 Hampshire Street, Cambridge. Cost is $15 per dog. Cash or checks only will be accepted.

The City of Cambridge announced the May schedule for its 7 days per week COVID-19 testing program, including walk-in and expanded appointment-based testing options. Appointment-only testing, provided through a partnership with CIC Health, is now available to people who live or work in Cambridge during any available appointment times, 7 days per week, at CIC Health’s 295 Third Street location during their regular operating hours

Acting on recommendations from the City Manager’s Office, the License Commission has authorized the sale of alcohol-to-go for permitted businesses within designated open container districts/public consumption zones and a maximum one-hour extension of alcohol operating sales for approved bars and restaurants.
