The Cambridge Pedestrian Committee works to create a more comfortable, safe, and pleasant environment for walking in Cambridge, and promotes walking as a means of transportation, for health, and for enjoyment.

Under a Level 2 (Significant Drought), all nonessential outdoor water uses remain banned, except the watering of ornamentals and flower gardens with drip irrigation. Hand-held hose or watering cans may be permitted.

Cambridge welcomes immigrants and works to support their success and access to opportunity and advancement. CIRC acts as a centralizing organization in Cambridge to address immigrant rights and citizenship issues by providing information, referrals, and guidance to residents seeking assistance. CIRC also coordinates and collaborates with other city departments and external organizations and individuals that support immigrant rights and citizenship.

The Baker-Polito Administration, Treasurer Deborah B. Goldberg and the Massachusetts State Lottery announced the Massachusetts VaxMillions Giveaway for residents who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Fully vaccinated residents 18 and older will have the opportunity to enter to win of five, $1 million cash prizes. Fully vaccinated residents between 12-17 years of age may enter for the chance to win one of five $300,000 scholarship grants.

Over the past three weeks, 20 employees with the City of Cambridge have contacted more than 7,000 senior residents throughout the community. This effort, which is being led by the City Manager’s Office, is intended to connect directly with seniors to determine if they have any questions, concerns or needs during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The City of Cambridge has been a climate leader for many years and worked closely with the City Council, climate activists and experts, business and institutional leaders, and residents to chart a path forward. Julie Wormser will bring extensive local, regional and national experience.

This new Commission will explore historic and ongoing harms to the Cantabrigian descendants of enslaved people and determine appropriate reparations.
