A beloved apple tree will sprout new life through the process of tree grafting and mature pin oaks will be transformed into interactive sculptures as part of a public art project from the firm IKD that is planned for the City of Cambridge’s Tobin Montessori and Vassal Lane Upper Schools complex.

Families with elementary school-age children join us for hands-on activities focused on Science, Technology, Arts, Engineering and Math. Adults and children will learn and play together! This month we will be experimenting with sink or float!

Join us for a fun and interactive storytime featuring Nicolette Nordin Heavey! A renowned folk storyteller, Nicolette invites audiences to participate in creating and sharing stories together. The City of Cambridge is notifying residents, businesses, and visitors of multiple temporary street closures throughout the week due to several community events. These include Haggerty Day, the Greek Festival, the US Army’s 250th Birthday, Hoops ‘N’ Health, 617 Day Block Party, and the Juneteenth Parade and Celebration.

Harvard Book Store and the Cambridge Public Library welcome Zach Adams—Birder, writer, and conservationist—for a discussion of his debut field guide, Birds of New England, which includes stunning photos, maps, and nuanced information on how to locate and identify each unique bird. Registration is required.

Children ages 5 and up are invited to join us to play with watercolor and experiment with texture. Each child will have the chance to make several abstract paintings to test out this art form! Children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required.
