Join the Cambridge Public Library in celebrating the winners and honorees of the 2025 Boston Globe-Horn Book Awards! First presented in 1967, the Boston Globe-Horn Book Awards celebrate excellence in children’s and young adult literature. The 2025 winners and honorees “represent such a wide range of what books for young people can be and say,” writes Elissa Gershowitz, Editor in Chief of The Horn Book, Inc. “Especially at a time when creative voices are being threatened and silenced, we are proud to recognize children’s book creators whose work is so uniquely their own.” A book signing will follow the Awards Ceremony. Books will be available for purchase on-site. Registration is required.

Kids in 6th, 7th and 8th grade can come to the Library to make keychains to decorate your backpack! Snacks provided. No registration necessary.

Help to Prevent Devastating Fires in our City

The City of Cambridge, the City of Somerville, and the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority are collaborating on CSO Control plans to protect and improve our water resources.

The Harvard School of Dental Medicine’s Students for Smiles Club and the Central Square Branch Library are hosting a free community event on oral health. Attendees will learn how to brush and floss the right way through a short talk and hands-on practice. The program will also share simple tips for preventing common dental problems and explain when to see a dentist. Free toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, and local dental care resources will be available for everyone.
