Join the Collins Branch Library in collaboration with the Cambridge Climate Leaders Initiative for a monthly discussion of a climate-related topic. Each month the group will discuss a book on the topic at hand then hear about a related local program or initiative and how you can take action.
Topic: Community Resilience
Documentary: This month we will be discussing the documentary, 2040 which is available on Kanopy and as a DVD. Copies of the DVD will be available at the Collins Branch during library hours.

Apply for a Stormwater Control Permit
A stormwater control permit is required for construction, development and redevelopment projects in the City of Cambridge to ensure that measures are taken throughout the project to address erosion, nonpoint source pollution, and flood control.
Improve Parks with Shade Structures and Seating
Make parks and dog parks more comfortable for visitors by building one to two shelters with seating for rainy or sunny days. This project would also fund additional benches and tables in various parks across the city.
LOCATION CHANGED Beginning English Class (Main)
This event has been moved to the Learning Lab at the Main Library, located at 449 Broadway, due to the temporary closing of the Valente Branch.
Join us for an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) class! This class will be taught at a beginner level. No testing is needed. Everyone is welcome. For more information, call Maria Balestrieri at 617-349-4013.

The City of Cambridge is proposing a new Community Safety Department (CSD) that will coordinate community driven solutions to enhance safety in the community, with key services and programs targeted at our most vulnerable populations.

Cambridge Young Authors' Squad - CYAS with guest author, Kendall Kulper (O'Neill)
Young people ages 10 to 14 who love to write are welcome to share their ideas and writing. There will be time for share-outs/workshopping, as well as group or solo writing. Snacks are provided!

The City of Cambridge is notifying residents, businesses, and visitors of multiple temporary street closures throughout the week and weekend due to scheduled community events from Thursday, June 5, 2025 to Sunday, June 8, 2025.
