All are invited to remember and celebrate the life and work of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at the City of Cambridge's annual Martin Luther King Day Commemoration and Remembrance, organized by the Cambridge Peace Commission.

The “Getting to Net Zero” Task Force will advise the City Manager on ways to advance the goal of putting Cambridge on the trajectory towards becoming a “net zero community”, with focus on carbon emissions from building operations.

Cool Spots are public spaces where community members are encouraged to gather, connect, and cool off. In the first round of implementation completed in June 2025, four pilot locations for Cool Spots have been launched across the City.

TP+T has received a petition from a group of Cambridge residents requesting that we add "Parking by Permit Only" signs in the Cambridge Highlands. The City is conducting a survey to gauge neighborhood interest in this change.

The Cambridge Human Rights Commission (CHRC) is dedicated to upholding and safeguarding the fundamental human rights of residents and visitors to the City of Cambridge. CHRC works to eradicate discrimination through an investigative process, proactive community outreach, and collaborations with City and community partners. CHRC aims to create an environment where people of diverse backgrounds can live without fear of discrimination based on the following protected classes: race; color; sex; age; religious creed; disability; national origin or ancestry; sexual orientation; gender identity or gender expression; marital status; family status; military status; and source of income.   

The Community-Wide GHG Inventory helps the City of Cambridge benchmark community-wide emissions, and provides a necessary foundation that enables Cambridge to track progress towards emission reduction goals, and engage specific market sectors in actions to reduce emissions.

The Copihue is the Chilean national flower and because it's an endangered species, its protected from being cut or sold. There is a legend about the origin of this flower that comes from the Mapuche.

Join the Collins Branch Library in collaboration with the Cambridge Climate Leaders Initiative for a monthly discussion of a climate-related topic. Each month the group will discuss a book on the topic at hand then hear about a related local program or initiative and how you can take action. Topic: Heatwaves & Hard Truths Book: The Heat Will Kill You First: Life and death on a scorched planet by Jeff Goodell Meetings will be held on the fourthThursday of each month from 6-7:30 p.m. Copies of the book will be available at the Collins Branch during library hours. Informal Book Exchanges are already popular in Cambridge on streets and at the Public Works yard. This project would install 13 Little Free Libraries to support literacy, community engagement, and fun throughout the streets of our city.
