The City of Cambridge Emergency Communications Department will be holding Informational Sessions for potential candidates on the open Emergency Telecommunications Dispatcher (ETD) position. Sessions will include a brief presentation, followed by a Q&A with current ETD’s, and overview of the hiring process and employment benefits.

Due to all-staff safety trainings for the City of Cambridge Department of Public Works (DPW), trash and compost collection normally scheduled for Friday, October 20 will be delayed one day and will occur on Saturday, October 21. Recycling and Yard Waste will remain on the normal schedule.

Join the Collins Branch Library in collaboration with the Cambridge Climate Leaders Initiative for a monthly discussion of a climate-related topic. Each month the group will discuss a book on the topic at hand then hear about a related local program or initiative and how you can take action. Topic: Decarbonizing the Future Book: Electrify: an optimist's playbook for our clean energy future by Saul Griffith This group will meet virtually and in person at the Collins Branch. The City of Cambridge will be distributing finished compost free of charge to Cambridge residents on Saturday, October 29, from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m., at Joan Lorentz Park, (in front of Cambridge Public Library), 449 Broadway, Cambridge. The rain date is October 30 at same time and location.
