Young people ages 10 to 14 who love to write are welcome to share their ideas and writing. There will be time for share-outs/workshopping, as well as group or solo writing. Snacks are provided! This week we will be joined by guest author, Kendall Kulper. If you are attending for the first time, registration is helpful, but not required.

The Cambridge Public Health Department and city partners are hosting a COVID-19 vaccination clinic for the Cambridge community on Wednesday, Dec. 15 from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School (CRLS), 459 Broadway.

This event has been moved to the Learning Lab at the Main Library, located at 449 Broadway, due to the temporary closing of the Valente Branch. Join us for an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) class! This class will be taught at a beginner level. No testing is needed. Everyone is welcome. Join the Collins Branch Library in collaboration with the Cambridge Climate Leaders Initiative for a monthly discussion of a climate-related topic. Each month the group will discuss a book on the topic at hand then hear about a related local program or initiative and how you can take action. Topic: Heatwaves & Hard Truths Book: The Heat Will Kill You First: Life and death on a scorched planet by Jeff Goodell Meetings will be held on the fourthThursday of each month from 6-7:30 p.m. Copies of the book will be available at the Collins Branch during library hours. The City of Cambridge announced that over $1 Million in grants will be awarded through the Community Benefits Stabilization Fund. 106 nonprofit organizations (501c3) will receive $10,000 grants to provide services to vulnerable Cambridge residents during the COVID-19 emergency and recovery.

Join instructor Ellen DeGenova, at the main branch park, to explore Tai Chi elements (without the complicated choreography). Tai Chi offers highly adaptable and accessible ways of moving for everyone. Being outdoors and learning together inspires a sense of well-being and community. A seated option is available. No experience necessary. In case of inclement weather, class will be held in the library’s Community Room.
