In observance of the Presidents' Day Holiday on Monday, February 16, City of Cambridge offices, libraries, and senior centers will be closed, and payments will not be required at parking meters and parking pay stations.

Starting on January 26, 2026, City Council, BZA and Planning Board meeting agendas, minutes, and video streaming will be available through this new portal. Other Boards and Commissions will follow at a date to be communicated later.

The City of Cambridge has officially launched Sustainable Cambridge, a new initiative that encompasses all of Cambridge’s efforts to address climate change while keeping the community welcoming, neighborly, and beautiful. The City of Cambridge today announced it has launched a citywide campaign designed to educate and inform residents on housing opportunities and housing-related resources and services. On November 3, the City began a 5-year agreement with Casella Waste Systems to collect and haul the City’s residential recycling and yard waste.

City Manager Yi-An Huang is seeking Cambridge residents, business owners, and local professionals interested in serving on the Recycling Advisory Committee (RAC) beginning in January 2023. The RAC is a volunteer committee which provides advice, recommendations, and assistance to the Department of Public Works (DPW) regarding recycling, composting, reuse, and waste reduction. The RAC does this through research, feedback, public outreach, and event planning. The RAC has helped the city implement the Zero Waste Master Plan, curbside composting, Fix-It Clinics, marketing and education, and other important initiatives that have made Cambridge a national leader in waste reduction.
