Pajama/Costume Story Time (O'Neill)
Come to the library in your pajamas (or a fun costume!) to listen to stories, read with your children, and enjoy a snack before bed! This program is recommended for children of all ages and their caregivers.
Pajama Story Time is presented by the Cambridge Public Library and the Center for Families.
Drop-in Maker Studio (O'Neill)
Come to the Library to create something special! Use your own supplies or try out our equipment! You can use our 1-inch button maker, 2.5 inch button maker, 3-D Doodle pens, or Janome sewing machines. The Library will provide basic supplies. *This month you are invited to join in a community sewing circle to help create a Moth Banner. Learn more here: https://cambridgepl.libcal.com/event/16984382
This drop-in program is for people who feel comfortable using these machines on their own. The Library will not provide instruction. Anyone wishing to use the sewing machines must have completed a Sewing 101 training through the Library. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
Community Sewing Circle: Biodiversity Banner (O'Neill)
Collaborate on a biodiversity banner to celebrate Moth Week with a sewing circle on July 11 and July 18.
Wildlife Arts invites the community to hand sew blocks for a multi-moth fabric banner! We'll teach beginning sewers, and children old enough to handle a needle may work on caterpillar blocks (recommended for age 10 and up). You'll learn about moth biodiversity in Massachusetts and help publicize the humble and little-known world of moths. The banner will be displayed at the Cambridge Moth Ball on July 22 at Fresh Pond Reservation and will be available in the Wildlife Arts banner lending library when complete.
All materials will be provided. Registration is suggested. You may attend one or both sessions.
The City of Cambridge does not discriminate, including on the basis of disability. We may provide auxiliary aids and services, written materials in alternative formats, and reasonable modifications in policies and procedures to people with disabilities. For more information contact us at library@cambridgema.gov, 617-349-4032 (voice), or via relay at 711.

Social Media Algorithms (Main)
Two people who open the same social media app will see different things. For example, you might see a recipe video, a local news clip, and a friend's photo, while someone else might see a sports highlight, a sneaker review, and a travel vlog. In this session, Digital Navigators will share insights into how that happens, who decides, and what controls you actually have over social media algorithms and data sharing.
This class will be delivered by a DOORS program instructor. To learn more about the DOORS program please go to: https://www.digitalpsych.org/doors-program.html
