De Novo staff screen the messages and assign callers to volunteer attorneys based on practice area and language, when possible. Volunteer attorneys then provide brief advice, screen for immigration legal needs, and refer to additional legal resources if appropriate. De Novo immigration attorneys provide supervisory support.

Create your own terrarium! (Main)
In honor of Earth Day, spend your afternoon at the Library creating your own terrarium. In partnership with Emerald City Plant Shop, you will have the opportunity to learn more about different kind of plants and plant care. This event will be conducted in the front park area of the Library. In the case of rain, the class will be moved to the community room. The Library will provide needed supplies.
Summer Reading: Pajama Story Time Outdoors at the Fresh Pond Apartments (O'Neill)
Come to the playground in your pajamas to listen to stories, read with your children and enjoy a snack before bed! This program is recommended for children of all ages and their caregivers.
This summer Pajama Story Time will happen outside in the playground area at the Fresh Pond Apartments. In case of bad weather, the story time will happen inside the Community Room of 362 Rindge Ave.
Pajama Story Time is presented by the Cambridge Public Library and the Center for Families.
Coordinated Care By a Community That Goes Above and Beyond for Those Most In Need
This is a story about “John.” If you have visited Harvard Square anytime over the last two decades, there is a good chance you have come across John. He is one of the more well-known, long-term unhoused Cambridge residents in the Harvard Square area. But you might not know where his story started and how the Cambridge Police Department, Harvard Square Business Association, Healthcare for the Homeless, and many other agencies have been coming together to support John over the years.
Notice of Board Vote - Alteration of Premises to Include or Expand Outdoor Areas
On April 30, 2024, Governor Maura Healy signed into law “An Act Making Appropriations for the Fiscal Year 2024 to Provide for Supplementing certain Existing Appropriations and for Certain Other Activities and Projects.” Based on the changes made by this law, applications for alteration of premises to include an outdoor area that serves alcohol no longer need ABCC approval. These applications will now only need local board approval. The law requires that each local board establish a process by which these requests will be considered.

Music, movement and stories! Join local storyteller and community member ashley herring for 20 minutes of fun! For children of all ages and their grown-ups.
ashley herring (she series) has enjoyed being in her imagination for countless years and promised she would never stop playing. With her ancestors, she dreamed up blackyard, a local grass roots organization, which lifts up and centers the love for Black children in Cambridge and surrounding greater area. ashley is excited to share songs and stories with you today.
Sherman Street Drainage Improvements
The Walden Square Inflow and Infiltration (I&I) Project is located in the vicinity of 99 Sherman Street. The City has designated this area for redesign to help reduce the amount of storm water that goes into the city drainage system in order to prevent flooding during heavy rain events. The I&I project at Walden Square encompasses three parcels of land with the first parcel being the surface parking lot at Danehy Park, the second being the roadway at Sherman Street, and the third being the surface lot at the Walden Square Apartments.
