Families and Community Invited to Pfizer Vaccine and Flu Clinics at King Open School on Nov. 10 and Dec. 1
Students, families, and the community are invited to get their free Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine or booster shot on Wednesday, Nov. 10 and Wednesday, Dec. 1 from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the King Open School located at 850 Cambridge Street. Flu vaccine, including FluMist and high-dose vaccine, will also be offered.
City of Cambridge Distributes nearly $1 Million from Mayor’s Disaster Relief Fund and will Continue Accepting Applications through May 15
Mayor Sumbul Siddiqui and City Manager Louis A. DePasquale announced the Mayor’s Disaster Relief Fund has distributed nearly $1 million to 629 Cambridge residents and families financially impacted by the COVID-19 public health crisis. Residents who are hoping to receive assistance from the Fund must apply by 5:00 p.m. on May 15.
Cambridge Police Department Launches a Co-Response Team
Cambridge Police Department (CPD) launched a co-response program that places a clinician in a cruiser with a police officer to respond to mental health calls. Beginning in August 2024, Officer Qaiss Farazi, aka “Q”, and Co-Response Clinician Bonnie Magee, an employee from North Suffolk Community Services, began responding to mental health calls across the city. The two main goals of co-response are to reduce arrests related to mental health calls and to reduce unnecessary trips to the ER for mental health calls that can potentially be resolved on scene.

City of Cambridge to Follow Governor's Capacity Increases for Phase III, Step 1 Sectors on Monday, February 8
On February 4, 2021, the Governor of Massachusetts announced that as of Monday, February 8, 2021, the capacity limits for certain businesses will increase from the current 25% to 40%.  After careful consideration, the City of Cambridge will follow the increase but will continue to monitor and amend if necessary in the interest of the public’s safety. The City of Cambridge previously announced that it will be returning to Phase III, Step 1 effective on Monday, February 8 at 12:00 a.m.
