As you begin your holiday shopping or if you’re preparing in advance of Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and/or Cyber Monday, the Cambridge Police Department wants to encourage residents and businesses to once again consider supporting the “Secret Santa for Seniors” gift drive. Now in its 18th year, the gift drive brings gifts and joy to seniors who may not have any remaining family members or loved ones nearby during the holiday season.

CPD's Secret Santa for Seniors Gift Drive is Back for Its 19th Year. This program relies solely on generous donations from Cambridge businesses, residents, community members, and CPD employees. Gift bags are organized and distributed to seniors throughout the city on the days leading up to Christmas to remind them that they are not forgotten. The program is a great way to support Local Businesses and Seniors This Holiday Season. Gifts can be dropped off 24/7 at drop boxes in the first-floor main lobby of the Robert W. The Department of Human Service Programs' Recreation Division offers several youth athletic leagues and maintains a list of offerings from local sports organizations. Recreation staff also coordinate the permitting of all Cambridge athletic fields and athletic space at the War Memorial Recreation Center.

The Science Carnival is a beloved yearly highlight of the Cambridge STEAM calendar and features over 125 activity booths and demonstrations, with live music and installations.

This June and July, Cambridge comes alive with the world's game. Cambridge United is a free, citywide series of outdoor soccer screenings and community celebrations — open to everyone, happening right in your neighborhood.

This summer, more than 500 Cambridge pre-teens, middle schoolers, and teens explored new interests and skills, made lasting connections with peers, and experienced joy through summer programs and internships offered through Cambridge Youth Programs (CYP), a division of the Department of Human Service Programs (DHSP).
