The Task Force will consider opportunities for new or revised practices and procedures to improve LGBTQ+ persons’ access to, and inclusion in, existing housing. The Task Force will also evaluate possibilities for new housing to be more LGBTQ+-friendly. The Task Force will issue a final report with concrete recommendations and action plans for ensuring LGBTQ+ housing access, safety, and inclusivity in Cambridge.

Highlights include: Drainage improvements to the perimeter road at Fresh Pond at Glacken Slope, and completed Route 2 Bridge reconstruction and Rt. 128 resurfacing which included new best management practices.

As of August 2, the City of Cambridge will offer free COVID-19 testing three days per week, on Sundays from 2:00-6:00 p.m. at 50 Church Street, Mondays from 4:00-8:00 p.m. inside the Cambridgeside Mall, and Thursdays from 11:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. inside the CambridgeSide Mall. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued an emergency use authorization (EUA) for the third vaccine for the prevention of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The EUA allows the Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine to be distributed in the U.S for use in individuals 18 years of age and older.

City of Cambridge offices, libraries, and senior centers will be closed on Monday, January 2, 2023, in observance of the New Year’s holiday. Please also note that all library locations will also be closed on Sunday, January 1, 2023. Parking meter payments will not be required at Cambridge parking meters and parking meter pay stations on January 1 and 2, 2023.
