The Finance Department is responsible for the City's operating and capital finances, and fort processing payments for real estate and personal property taxes, municipal lien certificates, motor vehicle excise tax, and water bills.
Wellness Art Wednesday: Fall Leaves Watercolor (Main)
Fall season is in the air, here at the Library! This art class will be a hybrid of indoor and outdoor time. Allowing you to get up close with the trees and leaves to take artistic observations of your surroundings. All supplies will be provided but please bring any protective gear (long sleeves and sweaters) in the event of slightly cold weather.

Join us for this free, hands-on class at the library! You’ll learn the basics of using a Chromebook, including how to navigate the home screen, connect to Wi-Fi, use apps, browse the internet, and manage files. Perfect for beginners—no prior experience needed!

Black's Nook Restoration Project
A phased approach to improve Black's Nook wildlife habitat value and water quality by fostering native wetland and woodland plant communities and stabilizing the shoreline with native vegetation, coir logs, and erosion control matting.
Reel Reads Book Club (O'Connell)
Is it true the book is always better? Join our new book club at the O'Connell Branch to delve into this question! Each month we will read a book selection with a movie adaptation, and discuss the relationship between the two and the merits and/or drawbacks of each.
The Reel Reads book club will meet the first Tuesday evening of each month at the O'Connell Branch Library on 48 Sixth St.
For our inaugural meeting in May, we will be discussing Forrest Gump by Winston Groom, and the 1994 film of the same name.

Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) Joint Public Meeting #7
Join the Cities of Cambridge and Somerville, and the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority, for a public meeting on the recommended combined sewer overflow control plan for Alewife Brook, Upper Mystic River, and Charles River.

In addition to initiatives to make buildings and vehicles more sustainable, the City addresses other issues including: Urban forestry, Recycling, composting, and waste reduction, Environmentally preferable purchasing, Stormwater management and Safe drinking water supply.
