On Thursday, October 22, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health recategorized the City of Cambridge as a moderate risk “yellow” community. This designation is given to communities where the average daily case rate over the last 14 days is 4-8 cases per 100,000 population.

In Cambridge it is against the law to deny anyone housing because of their: Disability; Source of Income (For example: refusing to accept Section 8); Family Status/Marital Status; Race/Color/National Origin; Sex/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity; Religion; Age (18 years or older); Military Status

The City of Cambridge Department of Veterans Services will host a Veterans Day Observance event, with a ceremony at the Cambridge Common at 11 a.m., followed by an informal gathering and luncheon at the Sheraton Commander from 12-4 p.m.

Governor Baker announced that the Commonwealth’s early closing order & stay at home advisory will be rescinded effective 5 a.m. Monday, January 25. The Commonwealth is also extending the 25% capacity limits for most sectors through 5 a.m. on Monday, February 8. Both of the changes announced by the Governor will apply to the City of Cambridge.

During this reservation period, anyone who has completed Hive training and is certified to use equipment or studio(s) can reserve Hive equipment or studio spaces. Staff will assist participants as they are able. Tool Reservations for this date will open two weeks prior, October 8 at 9am.

Instructions and supplies will be provided for an afternoon activity. Learn to fold paper airplanes inspired by flying dinosaurs. We'll follow complex instructions and share flying tips to make these Jurassic models. Recommended for ages 6-12 with a caregiver.

The STEAM Initiative has three connected, data-driven math initiatives that focus on math equity through the lens of racial justice. These initiatives span early childhood to Grade 12, in both out-of-school-time (OST) and in-school learning spaces.

To assist families throughout the Commonwealth, the state’s Executive Office of Health and Human Services launched a Nursing Home Family Resource Line on April 8. Through this dedicated telephone line, staff are connecting families of residents in nursing homes or rest homes with the information and resources they need.

“Still Marching 1970-2017,” an exhibition of original photographs by Liane Brandon, opens with a reception sponsored by the Cambridge Public Library, the Cambridge Women's Commission, and the Cambridge Historical Commission. Light refreshments will be provided. Registration is not required. Liane Brandon received funding for "Still Marching" through a Local Cultural Council Grant from the Cambridge Arts Council.
