Just A Start (JAS) is planning to create new affordable rental housing on an existing JAS-controlled site located at 243 Broadway in the Port neighborhood. Known as Broadway Park, the site is currently an existing parking lot and will be developed in conjunction with another new JAS project, 37 Brookline Street, as a scattered-site affordable rental housing project. The new housing at both Broadway Park and 37 Brookline Street will be built to Passive House standards, ensuring maximum energy efficiency.

People age 18 and older can get any vaccine, but teens age 12 to 17 can only get the Pfizer vaccine. Mass vaccination sites in Boston offer the Pfizer vaccine, as well as some Cambridge pharmacies, and the CHA Somerville, Medford, and Everett vaccination sites.

New Programming Now Available For Older Adults
The Cambridge Council on Aging and Public Health Department (CPHD) have offered engaging programs to support the well-being of older adults, including monthly music jams and cooking workshops. The music sessions, led by Bobby Tynes and Friends, provided a lively space for community connection, creativity, and movement, while CPHD’s collaboration with East End House introduced hands-on cooking classes focused on nutritious, accessible recipes. Both initiatives received enthusiastic feedback, highlighting their positive impact on social engagement, mood, and overall wellness.
Cambridge’s King Open/Cambridge Street Upper School and Community Complex Wins 2022 People’s Choice Award for Most Beautiful Building in Metro Boston
The 273,000 square foot facility houses the King Open School (JK-5), Cambridge Street Upper School (Grades 6-8), Cambridge Public Schools Administration, King Open Preschool, King Open Extended Day, Community Schools, and Valente Branch Library. It is is the first Net Zero Emissions and first LEED V4 Platinum school in Massachusetts.

Give your unwanted bikes a new life to benefit a community member!
The City of Cambridge has partnered with Cambridge Bike Give Back (CBGB) to help eligible Cambridge residents get refurbished bicycles. You can help in this effort by donating your unwanted bikes for refurbishing and CBGB will pass them on to a person or persons in need. Cambridge Bike Give Back will be collecting bike donations on Sunday, June 15, from 11am to 2pm, at Green Rose Heritage Park. Thanks in advance for your help and support!
