Homemade Gifts: Paper Bead Jewelry (Collins)
Join us to craft homemade gifts this holiday season. Learn to make one-of-a-kind beads from recycled strips of paper. Once the beads are constructed, thread them into a piece of jewelry for yourself or someone else. Recommended for children ages 6-12 with a caregiver. Bring a stuffed animal to the Library for a fun story time! Tuck your animal in, wish them sweet dreams, and read them a good night story. Come back on Tuesday 8/4 (or later) to pick up your friend and find out what adventures they had! Please make sure to bring an animal you are comfortable leaving overnight. This program is recommended for children of all ages and their caregivers. No registration is required.

New Exhibition: How We Care For 280+ Public Artworks
How does Cambridge Arts maintain the City of Cambridge’s collection of more than 280 public artworks? “Rust Happen(s): Caring for the Public Art Collection" offers a behind-the-scenes look at the public art conservation program of the city’s arts agency. The exhibition debuts at Cambridge Arts’ Gallery 344 at 344 Broadway, Cambridge, on March 18, 2024, followed by a free, public reception on Monday, March 25, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Summer Reading: Dance Workshop with Jean Appolon Expressions (Central Square)
Experience the vibrant rhythms of Haitian Folklore in a class led by JAE company dancer Velouse Joseph. Class is accessible to all levels and welcomes kids of all ages and their caregivers. Class includes a guided warm-up followed by traditional Haitian dances. You'll move to the sounds of prerecorded Haitian rhythms as you connect to culture, community, and the joy of movement. Calling all middle grade readers! Meet up in the Curious George Room every third Thursday to eat pizza and talk about books with your friends. This month's book will be The Experiment by Rebecca Stead. Copies will be available at the children's desk on the third floor. Snacks are provided. This group is for ages 10-12. Play the classic ball game of four square with other teens at the library! First-time players are welcome to come learn how to play. Ages 12-18, no registration.
