Curbside Food Waste Pickup
In 2009, the City set a goal to reduce residential trash disposal by 30% by 2020, and by 80% by 2050. With that goal in mind, the City expanded curbside food waste pickup to all buildings with 1 to 12 units. 25,000 households (8,100 buildings) are now eligible to participate.
Nominations Sought for 2023 Outstanding City Employee Awards. Submission Deadline is Friday, April 28 at 12 p.m.
The annual awards program recognizes City employees for their extraordinary contributions to public service to peers, colleagues, and residents, above and beyond job requirements. All nominations are due Friday, April 28, 2023, by 12 p.m. Award recipients will be recognized at the Outstanding City Employee Award ceremony that has been rescheduled to Friday, June 9, at 9:30 a.m., in the Sullivan Chamber at Cambridge City Hall.
Active Investigation Underway into Incident at 8-10 Harvard Sq. Protest
The Cambridge Police Department (CPD) is aware of and actively investigating an incident that occurred during a protest in Harvard Sq. on Sunday, August 10th. The incident, which is depicted in a widely circulated social media video, shows a motorist brandishing an axe during an altercation with protesters.

Propagate and Populate: Plant Swap (Central Square)
Calling all plant lovers! Add some green into your home! Bring your own plants to share propagules with others or come to pot a new plant baby for your home collection. We'll have a small collection of house plant propagules, along with soil and plastic planting containers. Attendees are welcome to bring their own pots as well.
