MAPS Working Group
The Mass Ave Planning Study Working Group will meet to discuss community feedback from Round 2 and provide input on the draft recommendations for South of Porter Square study area. Additionally, there will be a conversation with development experts on development feasibility currently, and the in the future, on Mass Ave.
Summer Reading: Wingmasters, World of Owls (Valente)
This program shows how owls use their specialized powers of sight, hearing and flight to survive and thrive. A wealth of fact and folklore about these masters of the night explains the natural and unnatural history of owls. A variety of live North American owls provides the focus of this presentation. Recommended for children ages 6 and up and their caregivers. Space is limited, and we may not be able to accommodate late arrivals once the program begins. Thank you for understanding! Summer Art Nights: Explore with Botanical Collage (Main)
Back by popular demand! Explore the art of botanical collage. In this workshop, participants work with a variety of plant-inspired imagery—think leaves, flowers, stems, and natural textures—to create their own unique composition. Whether you prefer something delicate and minimal or bold and layered, this is a chance to experiment, play, and let your creativity unfold. No prior experience is needed—this workshop is designed for all skill levels, including complete beginners. A selection of materials will be provided, so you can simply show up and start creating. That said, students are more than welcome to bring your own papers, clippings, pressed plants, or anything else that inspires you. Registration is required.
Summer Reading: BioDesign with the Rhode Island Computer Museum (Main)
Delve into the wonders of the natural world. Attendees will learn about different types of animal homes and use them to inspire their own creation. Recommended for ages 8-13. This program can accommodate 12 people. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis on the day of the program. The entire party must be present to receive a ticket. Three Long-Term Care Facility Residents in Cambridge Test Positive for COVID-19
Since Friday, October 2, three residents of a Cambridge long-term care facility have tested positive for COVID-19. All staff and residents have since been tested, and the Cambridge Public Health Department (CPHD) will announce any positive results once they are posted in MAVEN, the state’s reportable disease database.
Commonwealth of Massachusetts Announces COVID-19 Boosters Available for Everyone Age 18 or Older
Everyone age 18 or older who received Pfizer or Moderna at least 6 months ago or Johnson & Johnson at least 2 months ago can get any booster. You can mix and match vaccines. You do not need to get the same vaccine brand for your booster as your original COVID-19 vaccination.
Health Department Recommends COVID-19 Booster Shots
The Cambridge Public Health Department strongly recommends a COVID-19 booster shot for all individuals who are eligible. You should get the booster if you are 18 or older and were fully vaccinated with Pfizer or Moderna at least 6 months ago or Johnson & Johnson at least 2 months ago.
