The Cambridge Public Health Department strongly recommends a COVID-19 booster shot for all individuals who are eligible. You should get the booster if you are 18 or older and were fully vaccinated with Pfizer or Moderna at least 6 months ago or Johnson & Johnson at least 2 months ago.

In order to provide increased voting options in response to COVID-19, 950 House Bill 4820 was passed and signed into law as Chapter 115 of the Acts of 2020 “for the immediate preservation of public health and convenience.” Accordingly, early voting is available to all voters for the State Primary, September 1st and the State/Presidential Election, November 3rd. Early voting is available by mail and in person to all registered voters and no excuse is required.

In mid-January, the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) elevated the Cambridge and Northeast region drought level status to Level 2 (Significant Drought). All nonessential outdoor water use is currently prohibited.

The City of Cambridge is looking for volunteers to serve on the Black, Indigenous, People of Color-Owned (BIPOC) Business Advisory Committee for a two (2) year term. The Cambridge Police Department’s Crime Analysis Unit has identified an uptick in housebreaks in recent months. Over the past 2-3 months, there has been an increase in housebreak activity in The Port and Mid-Cambridge neighborhoods. Entry has been through unlocked doors and windows. Targeted items include electronics, jewelry, and cash.

Join Navigation Games for Leprechaun Orienteering, a free and fun outdoor event for all ages at Kingsley Park in Fresh Pond Reservation. Teams of 2–4 people will travel through the park and use a special map to look for checkpoints — before tricky leprechauns move them! The event is sponsored by the City of Cambridge.
