City of Cambridge Closures and Service Information for Veterans Day Holiday Friday, November 11
In observance of the Veterans’ Day holiday on Friday, November 11, City of Cambridge offices, libraries, and senior centers will be closed and payments will not be required at City of Cambridge parking meters and parking meter pay stations. Additionally, the offices at Cambridge Cemetery, 76 Coolidge Avenue, will be closed on the holiday, though the gates will be open from 7 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Curbside collection of trash, recycling, compost, and yard waste will be suspended on the holiday and one day behind schedule. Regularly scheduled street cleaning routes for Friday, November 11 will be cleaned on Monday, October 31.
Information on the Massachusetts Vaccine Scheduling Resource Line at 2-1-1
The Massachusetts Vaccine Scheduling Resource Line at 2-1-1 is now available in English and Spanish and will have translators available to support residents in approximately 100 additional languages. Please call 2-1-1 and follow prompts to reach The Massachusetts Vaccine Scheduling Resource Line. Individuals ages 75 and older will be able to speak to a representative live on the phone to assist them with an appointment through the state’s online system.
A Win for Housing Affordability as Cambridge City Council Adopts Changes to Incentive Zoning
The Cambridge City Council adopted an amendment to the Incentive Zoning Ordinance on October 17, 2022, which will increase funds for the City’s Affordable Housing Trust. This new amendment adds to the many tools Cambridge has put in place over the past few years to support affordable housing.
Cambridge’s Affordable Housing Trust has commitments of more than $100 million to affordable housing developments currently underway to preserve or create more than 500 affordable homes when completed.

City of Cambridge to Advance to Phase IV, Step 1 on May 6, 2021, and Relax Outdoor Mask Requirements, Effective April 30, 2021
The City of Cambridge today announced that the city will advance to Phase IV, Step 1 of the Commonwealth’s Reopening Plan, as set forth in Governor Baker’s COVID-19 Order No. 66 on May 6, 2021. The City has remained at a modified Phase III, Step 2 since March 22, 2021. Gathering limits in the city for event venues and in public settings will increase to 100 people indoors and 150 outdoors on May 6, 2021, in accordance with Governor Baker’s COVID-19 Order No. 63 as amended on March 22, 2021.
