We invite children and their caregivers to a 30-minute session of songs and stories in Mandarin Chinese with Mina (Yating) Fan, a local mother and educator. This fun and interactive session brings families together to enjoy lively songs and engaging stories in a warm, welcoming environment. This program can accommodate 45 people. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis on the day of the program. The entire party must be present to receive a ticket. This program starts promptly. Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan, Cambridge Acting Police Commissioner Pauline Wells and Somerville Chief of Police Shumeane Benford have announced that four individuals have been charged in connection with their alleged participation in an operation to deal illicit narcotics in the Greater Boston area including in the communities of Cambridge and Somerville.

Cambridge Veterans' Services and various City and State Officials held a special ceremony in honor of National Purple Heart Day on Wednesday, August 7, in the Sullivan Chamber of Cambridge City Hall. Speakers included Cambridge Mayor E. Denise Simmons, Cambridge Deputy City Manager Owen O'Riordan, and Deputy Director of Cambridge Veterans' Services Cynthia Harris. During the ceremony, City officials, speaking on behalf of the City of Cambridge, offered their deepest gratitude and heartfelt respect to those who sacrificed much in service to their country.

International Overdose Awareness Day is the world’s largest annual campaign to end overdose. This year’s theme is “Together We Can.”

The last remaining defendant in a multi-phase investigation targeting drug trafficking and gang violence in communities north of Boston has been found guilty of operating a large-scale drug trafficking conspiracy that manufactured and distributed over 10 kilograms each of fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine in Boston, the North Shore and Maine.
