Our Cambridge Fire Companies are out training on a regular basis, although some training skills are also reviewed inside the fire house.

A celebration serenading and sharing sounds of wisdom supporting the fathers and male guardians of our communities with Ultimate Entertainment Group (UEG).

This class is temporarily being held at the Main Library while the Valente Branch Library is closed. Join us for an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) class! We invite children and their grown-ups to join us for 20-25 minutes of fun and scary songs and stories for a late October treat! Feel free to wear your favorite cozy pajamas or a scary or fun costume! Pajama Story Time is presented by the Cambridge Public Library and the Center for Families.

The Office of Workforce Development offers a variety of programs to help residents ages 18 and older gain job experience and develop professional skillsets. OWD also provides career counseling, and job search supprt. Staff also facilitate job fairs and hiring events several times of year to connect Cambridge residents to the city's vibrant economy.

People of all ages who enjoy children's books can read and discuss together. Food will be provided. This month we will read and discuss Words with Wings and Magic Things by Matthew Burgess. Copies are available at the O'Neill Branch. This book group will meet in person at the O'Neill Branch Library. Please register below.

Join guide Stefanie Haug while exploring our neighborhood nature and history. As a group we'll connect with and explore the neighborhood mindfully with a gentle walk and draw on contemplative practices. What to bring: layered clothing, comfortable shoes and water. Led by a Minuteman Senior Services state-certified Medicare benefits counselor, this program is for people who are turning 65 or leaving an employer group health plan due to retirement. Topics include Medicare benefits and coverage gaps, when to apply for Medicare, how to apply for Medicare, health insurance plans that work with Medicare, understanding premiums, deductibles and maximum out of pocket costs, and choosing the right supplement plan. It also covers special considerations and the consequences of not enrolling at the right time. Registration is requested but not required.

February Selection - East: 120 Vegan & Vegetarian Recipes from Bangalore to Beijing by Meera Sodha Join friends and neighbors for a potluck! Try a recipe and bring your results or thoughts to share and discuss with other cooks. All experience levels welcome. No need to bring a dish to join. Books will be available for pick up at the Boudreau and Collins Branches during library hours. This event will take place indoors at the Boudreau Branch (245 Concord Ave).
