City Council
The City Council, the policy setting arm of the City, derives its powers from the City Charter and the laws and Constitution of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Traffic Enforcement Unit
The goal of the Traffic Unit is to serve the community by enforcing the motor vehicle traffic laws of the Commonwealth as well as reducing the number and severity of accidents in the City.
Mayor's Office
The Mayor serves as the Chairperson for both the City Council and the School Committee. As the official leader of the City, the Mayor fulfills political, ceremonial and community leadership functions on behalf of the City and serves as the City’s official receiver for visiting dignitaries and distinguished visitors.
Office of Procedural Justice
The Office of Procedural Justice will give the community the ability to see how the Department and its officers are interacting with the public.

The City’s Operating and Capital Budgets, property classifications, and property valuations are major factors in determining property tax bills.
