The Cambridge Commission for Persons with Disabilities (CCPD) Advisory Board works to increase access to all aspects of Cambridge community life for people with disabilities. CCPD raises awareness of disability issues and promotes equal opportunity for people with a range of abilities, including physical, mental, and sensory.

Learn about the structure of the plants we eat from root to fruit and what portions of different plants are or are not edible. Recommended for ages 5 and up. Preceding our October 13th discussion of Stephenie Meyer's Twilight, join us for a free screening of the 2008 film adaptation starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. Everyone is welcome, so please feel free to bring friends! We encourage audience participation! Quote reciting is a must for Twilight! Popcorn and drinks will be provided.

You don't have to be a poet to have something to say. In this generative writing workshop, led by poet Anthony Febo, participants will explore a variety of ways to fill the blank page with poetry that is reflective of their own lived experience. Performance tools will be weaved throughout the workshop to give participants the confidence to share their work at the end. This event is reserved for teens. Advance registration is encouraged.

This handbook was created by The Healthy Children Task Force (HCTF) to serve as a basic resource for you to support the children in your life. Each section includes information, organized by age range, of anticipated growth and development. HCTF is a community coalition of parents and professional organized in 1990 to promote the health of children in Cambridge.

Cambridge has adopted policies to encourage and require energy efficient and sustainable buildings as a strategy to achieve Cambridge’s goal to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions that cause global warming.

Ages 12-18. Craft a felt food, flag, or something else that is special to Hispanic Heritage! Felt, paper and pencil, needle and thread, and wet glue and hot glue will be provided. No registration needed, drop-in. The City of Cambridge does not discriminate, including on the basis of disability. Join us for a lively discussion of a great book in person at the Main Library! Pizza will be provided. For ages 7-10 and a parent or caregiver. This month's book is Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing by Judy Blume. Two is a crowd when Peter and his little brother, Fudge, are in the same room. Grown-ups think Fudge is absolutely adorable, but Peter and his pet turtle, Dribble, know the truth. From throwing temper tantrums to smearing mashed potatoes on the wall, Fudge causes mischief wherever he goes! Both caregiver and child should read the book before the discussion to participate.
