Through the Cambridge Second Chance Program, members of the Cambridge Police Department’s Clinical Support Unit work with eligible residents and various partners through the Cambridge Community Court to seal their statutorily-eligible CORI (criminal offender record information) in order to help support long-term, unhoused residents who have not been able to secure housing due to their criminal records.

Applications to the Fuel Assistance Program, which helps low-income residents pay their winter heating bills, will be accepted through May 10.

Phase one of the Seniors Housing project which is to assess Policies and Practices in Housing facilities with respect to LGBTQ Seniors. This report is on our work with the Cambridge Housing Authority.

The following description is for the program that will be on Saturday: Join friends at the O'Neill Branch to build, build, BUILD your idea of a neighborhood and a community! Let your imagination run wild with LEGOs, Magna-Tiles and other building toys. We will also have books about neighborhoods and a collaborative art project about our community. For children ages 5 and up. Children under age 7 must be accompanied by a caregiver. LEGO pieces are choking hazards for young children.

Children and families can join us for an outdoor story time and short walk at Alewife Brook Reservation. We will meet at the seating area on the bike path near the Alewife Brook Pathway and DCR Wetland Boardwalk: https://maps.app.goo.gl/CC32nJqG1Xk3b5zDA. There is no parking available on-site. Parking is available at Alewife MBTA station or limited on-street parking on Cambridgepark Drive. No registration is required. On Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 9:39 p.m., Cambridge Police responded to Donnelly field located at 91 Berkshire Street for reports of multiple gunshots. Two victims, a 23-year-old male and a 22-year-old female, were located and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

This June, the Cambridge Warriors — our undefeated Special Olympics basketball team — are heading to Minneapolis to compete in the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games National Championship! Learn more about the team and how to support them on this journey.

JAS held an initial community meeting on January 14th, 2025 to introduce themselves and the project to the community. They are holding another community meeting on July 24th at 6 p.m. at 243 Broadway, Cambridge and via Zoom to present updated designs and to collect feedback.
