Truckloads of toys were delivered to Children in Need

The Cambridge Police Department has evaluated many strategies to combat this illness and formulated a comprehensive strategy collaborating with community partners to reduce the number of overdoses in our community

Each Summer, the City of Cambridge is committed to ensuring a wide variety of programming for young people to enhance well-being, create more community connections and reduce incidents of violence. Building on many years of commitment to providing comprehensive programming for young people, the Department of Human Service Programs, Community Safety Department, Cambridge Police Department, and the Cambridge Public Health Department work collaboratively to offer various opportunities for youth engagement throughout the summer.

Food and arts and crafts vendors, and community and nonprofit organizations are invited to apply to participate in the annual Cambridge Arts River Festival, held the first Saturday in June.

The Cambridge Public Health Department’s Health Promotion Mini-Grant Program will award up to $20,000 in total funding to projects that promote healthy eating, physical activity, or youth mental health.

Introducing the Reel Reads Book Group! Each month we read a book selection with a movie adaptation and discuss the relationship between the two and the merits and/or drawbacks of each. Cambridge Public Health Department, the Cambridge CARE Team, Cambridge Police Department, and the Access Drug User Health Program, will gather to recognize and remember the lives lost to opioid overdoses.

On Thursday, May 8, 2025 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., we will host an open house to update the community on the Vassar Street Safety Improvement Project.
