Cambridge’s AxisGIS web map is the most robust interactive mapping solution. It has many features which allow users to view, query, and create maps. Users can also export selected datasets, generate abutters list for mailings, use measurement tools, mark up maps, send links to other users by e-mail, and more! Whether you’re an experienced GIS user or a first-time viewer, the AxisGIS interactive web map is a great way to explore the city and create your own personalized maps.

The City of Cambridge plans to redesign Beech Street near the intersection at Elm Street. The project will shorten pedestrian crossings and simplify the intersection by creating a T-shaped layout. To make these improvements possible, about six resident permit parking spaces on Beech Street near the bend will be removed.

Join the Cambridge Public Library for the 51st Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Lecture with Dr. Brandon M. Terry. Dr. Terry is the John L. Loeb Associate Professor of the Social Sciences at Harvard University and Co-director of the Institute on Policing, Incarceration, and Public Safety at the Hutchins Center for African and African American Research. He is the author of Shattered Dreams, Infinite Hope: A Tragic Vision of the Civil Rights Movement and is coeditor, with Tommie Shelby, of To Shape a New World: Essays on the Political Philosophy of Martin Luther King, Jr. and editor of Fifty Years Since MLK. Come explore the nature in our urban backyard! We will take a leisurely walk as we observe and learn together about the animals and plants at Alewife Reservation. You are welcome to bring binoculars, magnifying glasses or any other observational tool. The walk will meet at the stone benches by the wetland boardwalk. The paths and boardwalks are well maintained but can be muddy in places. Limited free parking is available in the Alewife Reservation lot on Acorn Drive.
