Understanding Deaf Culture & Everyday Signs Back by popular demand! Theresa A. King Founder & Director of SIGNING Basics® offers a deeper dive into American Sign Language. This workshop will focus on Deaf culture, common questions and misunderstandings about deafness, respectful communication practices, and practical everyday signs and short phrases. Participants will also have time to ask questions and continue the conversation that began during our previous session. This class is best for ages 10 and up.

CPL Nature Club: Morning Bird Watching Walk at Mount Auburn Cemetery (O'Neill)
Join us for a morning walk at one of the most renowned birdwatching spots in Cambridge, Mount Auburn Cemetery! We will help you identify birds, learn birdwatching tips and tricks, and familiarize yourself with migratory birds as well as those that can be spotted all year round. A limited supply of binoculars will be available. The walk will meet at the Bird Sighting Board near the front entrance of Mt. Auburn Cemetery at 10:15 am. Registration is required. This event can only accommodate a certain number of participants. One registration is good for one person. If you do not register, you cannot participate. Summer Reading: Live Animal Story Time with Land's Sake Farm (Boudreau)
Learn about the rabbits that we raise at Land’s Sake. This program includes a rabbit-themed story time, learning about rabbit behavior and anatomy, and a rabbit themed game. The highlight of the program is the Bunny Circle, where youth are able to touch and interact with live rabbits. Funding for Summer Reading has been generously provided by the City of Cambridge, Cambridge Public Library Foundation, Friends of the Cambridge Public Library and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
CPL Nature Club: Draw a Bird with Local Artist Mary C. Sullivan (Collins)
Join local artist Mary C. Sullivan and learn how to draw the bird of your choice! Participants of any skill level are welcome and will leave the program with their own finished bird drawing. If you don't think you can draw a bird, that's okay - this event will show you that you can! All drawing and reference materials will be provided. Registration is required for this program. This program is suggested for participants ages 8 and up.
