The City of Cambridge and Cambridge Public Health Department understand that wearing masks or cloth face coverings may not be possible in every situation or for some people, especially during the summer. Applicants were eligible for up to $30,000 each via the Create Cambridge: Arts Nonprofit Recovery Grant from the City of Cambridge (managed by Cambridge Arts and the city’s Community Development Department), in partnership with the Create Cambridge cultural nonprofit coalition, with funding from the federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).

You need a permit to park in areas designated “Parking by Permit Only.” Residents may apply for Resident Parking Permits (RPP), for passenger vehicles and motorcycles, and/or Visitor Parking Permits (VPP), which may only be used by visitors.

On August 3, the City Council adopted several new and updated policies to help Cambridge reduce waste, lower trash disposal costs, reduce climate impacts, and address rodent activity. The changes support goals in the City’s Zero Waste Master Plan 2.0, which City Council adopted in June 2025. The new policies apply to residential and commercial buildings throughout Cambridge and will take effect on February 3, 2027.
