The last Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day of 2022 for residents only will be held on Saturday, November 5, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., at 50 Mooney Street. Please enter the event via Smith Place off of Concord Avenue. The City’s Department of Public Works (DPW) and Cambridge Police Department will be on site to assist with traffic.

Cambridge Mayor Sumbul Siddiqui and City Manager Yi-An Huang today announced that the City of Cambridge will host a community meeting on Thursday, January 12, 2023, from 6-8 p.m., at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. School, 102 Putnam Avenue to discuss the fatal officer-involved shooting of Sayed Faisal that occurred on January 4, 2023.

CDC Director Rochelle P. Walensky, M.D., M.P.H., endorsed the CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices’ (ACIP) recommendation for a booster shot of COVID-19 vaccines in certain populations. The Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) authorization and CDC’s recommendation for use are important steps forward as we work to stay ahead of the virus and keep Americans safe.

The City of Cambridge Pandemic Collaborative and its partners is offering upcoming COVID-19 vaccine clinics. These clinics are free. No appointment is required, and you do not need insurance, an ID, or a social security number to get the vaccine. Getting a vaccine will NOT affect a public charge determination or immigration status.

The Affordable Housing Trust will hold its monthly meeting in-person and via Zoom webinar. September's meeting will be held at City Hall, 795 Massachusetts Ave, in the Ackerman Room. Polity Research Consulting conducted a biennial survey of 400 adult residents of the City of Cambridge between Sept. 9-13, 2020. Affordable housing is still the number one issue facing residents (30%) -- and the top issue residents want the City to address. COVID-19 and education are also high on the issues list.
