Don’t think you have what it takes to use a sewing machine? Think again! In this FREE workshop, teens from the Cambridge Community Art Center will teach you how to properly thread a machine, sew a straight stitch, hem and unfinished edge, and secure your stitches. Practice by sewing colorful shapes onto small flags. Following the workshop, the flags will be made into a banner and displayed at the Library. No experience necessary. The Cambridge Police Department Traffic Unit sought public assistance to identify the individual pictured with regard to an on-going investigation into a hit & run crash on Vassar St. that caused serious injuries to a 9-year-old. This individual has since been identified.

"No Left Turn" signs are coming to the intersection of Brattle Street and Appleton Street on or about Wednesday, August 14. These new signs will restrict left turns from Brattle Street eastbound onto Appleton Street northbound at all times.

The Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) helps income-eligible Cambridge and Somerville residents pay their winter heating bills between November 1 – April 30. Applications to HEAP are accepted beginning October 1.
