Join us every other week on Mondays at 4PM to learn and practice Zen meditation with our neighbors at the Cambridge Zen Center! Each session consists of a 15 minutes of introduction meditation, 20 minutes of sitting, followed by 10 minutes for questions. The annual Cambridge Arts Open Studios will take place all across Cambridge on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 21 and 22, 2024, from noon to 6 p.m. each day. The citywide event celebrates all the creativity that is Cambridge. Shop for paintings, prints, clothing, ceramics, and all sorts of locally-made creations when you visit artists' studios and in group exhibitions in Common Venues throughout the city.

Mid Cambridge Neighborhood Conservation District Commission Monthly Meeting

In this hands-on session, you’ll dive into traditional techniques using hand-carved blocks as well as modern methods with laser engraving. You’ll sketch and carve a design on a rubber linocut block and then print it onto paper. There will also be a demo on how Laser Cutters can be used to engrave print blocks You must complete Hive Safety Training before registering for this workshop.

People of all ages who enjoy children's books can read and discuss together. We encourage families to participate along with their children. Food will be provided. This month we will be reading and discussing Holes by Louis Sachar. Please pick up a copy of the book beforehand at the O'Neill Branch Library. It’s an act of rebellion to use your body in a public space, articulating power and transcending awkwardness or beauty. Two community workshops, led by Professor of Dance Christine Bennett, will involve movement as a path toward understanding and resiliency in our own bodies and community spaces. The workshops are appropriate for all movers ages 18 and up. Register for one or both workshops.
