This workshop is a comprehensive, four-week program tailored specifically for early-stage entrepreneurs and established business owners seeking to enhance their business operations. Our monthly "Graphics Are Great!" book group is for kids aged 8-12. Check out a copy of the book beforehand, or download it from the Libby app. Our July book is Ali Cross by James Patterson, adapted by Adam Rau, illustrated by Phillip Tajalle. This book group will meet virtually and in person at the O'Connell Branch. Please register below if you would like to attend virtually. Join Chef Gaitskell Cleghorn Jr. as he prepares Jerk Chicken and Mango Salsa in celebration of Caribbean-American Heritage Month. Gaitskell Cleghorn Jr., professionally known as Chef Gates, is an entrepreneur and culinary educator based in Boston. He specializes in culinary education, catering, and community outreach, partnering with organizations such as the Codman Square Farmers Market and BOLD Teens. Throughout his career, he has taught at prestigious institutions, including Harvard University, as well as local schools such as Madison Park Technical Vocational High School and Boston Day & Evening Academy. His work has been featured in publications including Channel 7, Edible Boston, Boston Herald, and the Boston Globe. Additionally, he collaborated with a Master Sushi Chef to produce over 3,000 sushi plates at the New England Seafood Expo. His work on food and culture is currently featured in an Exhibit at the Boston Children’s Museum. Although he lived globally due to his father’s military service, he has spent most of his professional life in Boston, where he continues to grow as a culinary professional.

Meet a swimming, quacking friend at a duck-themed story time, learn about duck behavior and anatomy, and do a themed activity! Best of all, in the Duck Circle, youth are able to touch and interact with a live duck. Due to the particularly fine weather, this program will meet in the Valente Reading Garden, at the corner of Cambridge Street and Berkshire Street. This program is for children of all ages, with a caregiver. Registration is required. When registering, please indicate how many children are attending. The Cambridge Youth Council is holding its first College Prep Panel to provide students with valuable insights on how to maximize their time in preparation for college success. Our panelists, with diverse post-graduation experiences, will share their perspectives to help students plan their futures. Light refreshments provided.

EVENT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO THURSDAY, JULY 24. Art on a nice Summer night? Nothing sounds better than that! Come to the Library and enjoy an art filled evening learning the techniques of watercolor painting. In partnership with artist Brooke Lambert, a professional printmaker and painter, she will take you through this guided art class. The library will provide all materials.

A series of classes with instruction from Comedian Jack Grey. Learn how to seamlessly integrate interactive improv games, scenes, and skillful storytelling that all come together with performance. The 10-week course will occur every Thursday, 1:30pm-3:30pm, starting February 27 through May 1. This will be an in-person program at the Main Library. Space is limited to 15 participants. Due to the popularity and to gain the most out of this program, we expect all participants to commit to all sessions in this 10-week course. Instructor Jack Grey is a local comedy performer with over nine years of combined improv and stand-up comedy experience.
