Over the course of the last year plus, I have worked hard to balance the many voices in our diverse community, find consensus within the City Council and follow their direction, and bring forward the professional experience and expertise of City department leaders and staff.

LilyPad in Inman Square will be hosting two events on June 13 and 14. Friday, June 13, will feature a live music at the Cambridge Street Court/Yard from 7:00 – 9:30 p.m. followed by a brass band procession back to LilyPad’s performance space in Inman. On Saturday, June 14, LilyPad will bring DJ dance party vibes back to the Cambridge Street Court/Yard from 7:00 – 9:30 p.m.

The Department of Human Service Programs offers afterschool programs for Cambridge children in Kindergarten through 8th grade, designed to develop social and emotional growth. Young people enjoy a range of activities, explore interests, and build friendships. Afterschool programs run during the school year, from September - June.

We will install pavement markings for a new separated bike lane, bus lanes, and turn-only lanes on Mt. Auburn Street between Brattle Street and Belmont Street. Work is tentatively scheduled to begin the week of April 22.

Harvard Book Store and the Cambridge Public Library welcome Richard Russo—Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Somebody's Fool and The Destiny Thief—for a discussion of his new essay collection Life and Art. The City of Cambridge, Emergency Communications Department, Police Department, and Fire Departments are notifying the community of a nationwide cyber-attack against the OnSolve CodeRED emergency notifications system, and encouraging users of the system to immediately change their passwords.
