The climate is changing, and we're all here on the planet together. Join us for a monthly community gathering and discussion of a variety of books about climate change. We will share thoughts, resources, and occasionally host special guests in a welcoming small-group environment. For our October meeting, we will discuss H is for Hope by Elizabeth Kolbert. The Community Benefits Advisory Committee is a volunteer group of community members who work together to make recommendations to the City Manager for the approval and awarding of grant agreements with nonprofit organizations for the provision of Community Benefits. Community Benefits may be programs or services provided by nonprofit organizations that directly benefit Cambridge residents.

The intent of this funding is to provide COVID-19 related assistance and critical supports to the vulnerable and at-risk Cambridge families and individuals served by Cambridge nonprofit organizations. The nonprofits are a critical resource to support vulnerable residents and this is especially true during the coronavirus pandemic.

The goal of MSYEP is to serve as a young person's first job experience and exposure to the world of work. The program is open to Cambridge residents ages 14 through the summer after completing high school. Teens are placed in public sector and non-profit jobs throughout Cambridge and in surrounding communities for six weeks during the summer.

The Cambridge Conservation Commission is teaming up with the New England Flower Society to offer an Urban Gardening Series of four, free classes from January through April. These sessions are designed to help city dwellers grow healthy, sustainable, and beautiful urban gardens.
