Ever wanted to be on a game show? Love friendly competition? Kids ages 7 to 11, now's your chance, right here at the O'Neill Branch! Each time we meet, we'll be playing a different game "show" based on family favorites like Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, Trivia, or Bingo. Come test your knowledge, try your luck, and see who are the champions of the day! Snacks will be provided.

Singing, dancing and tons of fun guaranteed! Recommended for children of all ages and their caregivers. Join fellow fans of Tui Sutherland’s “Wings of Fire” series to draw dragons, do a trivia challenge, and talk about the stories. Recommended for ages 8-14.

Alpacas from the Harvard Alpaca Ranch will be visiting the library for an educational program and meet and greet. Join us to learn more about alpacas and take some time to say hello! This event is intended for school-age children. No registration required. The City of Cambridge offers free access to hundreds of datasets on its Open Data Portal, covering everything from crime and traffic to property and even dog names. Join us for a hands-on workshop at the Cambridge Public Library to explore what's available and learn how to analyze and visualize this data. No prior experience or expertise is required. Join us for a beginner-friendly crochet class at O'Neill! Learn how to chain, single crochet, half double crochet, and finish a project as we create a stitch sampler. All materials provided – no experience needed! You'll leave with materials and a pattern to continue your practice after class. Registration required.

Celebrate the start of the school year by making an accessory to hang from your backpack. Recommended for children ages 6-12 with a caregiver. Do you need to cool off? Join us for a pop-up event inside the air conditioned library! Available activities may include: board games coloring pages word puzzles simple arts and crafts All ages, no registration required.

Preceding our October 13th discussion of Stephenie Meyer's Twilight, join us for a free screening of the 2008 film adaptation starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. Everyone is welcome, so please feel free to bring friends! We encourage audience participation! Quote reciting is a must for Twilight! Popcorn and drinks will be provided.

Learn how to upcycle clothing over four sessions! This program will cover embroidery embellishment, patches and applique, alterations such as hemming, and basic clothing design. Registration is required, and registering for the first session includes the following three sessions. Please plan to attend all four! We encourage you to bring your own piece(es) of clothing to practice on, and will provide all materials as well as scrap fabric. Ages 12-18.
