Join us in Joan Lorentz Park (outside the Main Library) for a Summer Kickoff Party for all ages! Enjoy a live concert with award-winning, GRAMMY nominated folk musician Alastair Moock and friends! Take home a tiny blossom kit and enjoy ice-cream (while supplies last). You can also register for Summer Reading, pick up a bingo board and learn more about special events happening across branches all summer long. The Department of Public Works, Community Gardens, and Office of Sustainability will join us to celebrate summer and the natural world.

Join us for stories and an art activity! We will read picture books, collect leaves outside, then return to the Library for an art activity. For children of all ages and their grown-ups. This is a CPL Nature Club activity!

The Cambridge Historical Commission staff is available to make educational presentations to students in public and private schools in Cambridge.

A dewatering permit is required for projects or businesses that plan to discharge to the municipal stormwater or wastewater system from dewatering or pumping activities or want to make changes in discharges from existing connections.

Join herbalist Mo Katz-Christy for a meander through Danehy park to meet wintertime city plants and explore their medicinal uses! We will explore weeds and cultivated plants, trees and shrubs, and have lots of space for questions and conversation. Bring a notebook if you like, and meet us at the parking lot on Sherman Street (if you're late you should be able to find us -- we won't move too far too fast!). Registration is required. Celebrate Jasmine Warga's A Rover's Story with Mad Science's Radical Robots Workshop! Explore a world of robots and try your hand at building your own in this hour-long workshop. Recommended for children ages 5 and up. Registration is required. Please register all attending children (adults do not need to register). This event is part of a special series promoting our 2026 Curious George Lecture (CGL) with Jasmine Warga, award-winning author of A Rover's Story, Other Words for Home, and many other popular children's books. Funding is generously provided by the Cambridge Public Library Foundation.

The Cambridge Summer Food Program is proud to bring back Fun Under the Sun, a recreation initiative that encourages Cambridge youth to get active, have fun, and make connections. Come for lunch and stay to play!
