Every Wednesday during the summer, the Teen Room will host video game days! Buddy up in 1, 2, Switch, or battle each other in Super Smash Bros. Between 12 PM and 2 PM grab a controller and hop into the game! For more information contact Ellen at ekaluza@cambridgema.gov.

This CPR class will cover life-saving skills for infants, children and adults. We will use multi-media and hands-on practice to be sure students acquire skills and confidence to assist in a life-saving medical situation. This class will also cover training and the use of AED (Automated External Defibrillator) for all ages, along with life-saving skills in choking situations. Students will receive their certificate upon completion of class. Please note that the City is not responsible for the content or training equipment. Space is limited (25 adults), registration is required. Note for CONFIRMED registrants: Your spot is held until the program start time. Once the program begins, we will fill in open spots from a day-of waiting list until the program reaches capacity. Please plan to arrive at the library approximately 15 minutes before the start time to ensure adequate time to check in before the program begins. We appreciate your patience and understanding. Have you ever wanted to design your own custom nail set? Well come to the Library and dive into the world of nail art. Local licensed nail tech, Munah of Fine Geh Glam, will guide you in this fun and creative art class. You will learn about proper nail care and treatments and leave with a one-of-a-kind nail set of your own. All supplies will be provided by the Library.

“If Black women were free, it would mean that everyone else would have to be free since our freedom would necessitate the destruction of all the systems of oppression.” - Combahee River Collective, April 1977 Come to the Central Square Library to gather for a reading of the Combahee River Collective (CRC) statement. Centered in Black feminist lesbian socialist politics, the CRC argued for the centering of anti-racist and anti-sexist politics within feminist and civil rights organizing respectively. Though the CRC is no longer active, its work and its members continue to have deep influence in Black feminism and beyond. We will read the statement aloud together, sharing the words and wisdom of the Combahee River Collective with opportunity to discuss their continued resonance. This event will be followed by a 4-session reading group to discuss the second edition of How We Get Free: Black Feminism and the Combahee River Collective by Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor. What's a zine? And how do I make one? Come find out! Kids are invited to explore making, copying, sharing, and swapping zines. Making zines will include activities like writing, drawing, and using a photocopier. For kids ages 7 and up. Snacks are provided!
