Short Story Reading Group (Central Square)

Every month we will read and discuss a short story as a group. Copies of the story will be provided, and no preparation is need. Please drop in! If you have any questions or story recommendations, please email tmitchell@cambridgema.gov. The City of Cambridge does not discriminate, including on the basis of disability. Summer Reading: Observing the Partial Solar Eclipse with #Popscope (O'Neill)

Join us during the partial solar eclipse and learn how to safely observe it! Eclipse glasses will be provided. Participants will also have the chance to explore a walkable model of the solar system and create a related craft. This program will happen outside. In case of bad weather, this program will happen inside the Peabody School gym Funding for Summer Reading has been generously provided by the City of Cambridge, Cambridge Public Library Foundation, Friends of the Cambridge Public Library and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.

Parent/Child (Ages 7-10) Book Group (Main)

Join us for a lively discussion of a great book in person at the Main Library! Pizza will be provided. For ages 7-10 and a parent or caregiver. This month's book is Hoops by Matt Tavares, a historical fiction graphic novel follows the story of a girl’s basketball team in the 1970’s as they fight for the same treatment that the boy’s team receives. Both caregiver and child should read the book before the discussion to participate. Registration is required — only one registration is needed per family.
