Join us for a weaving workshop with Katherine Santos, a member of the Choctaw-Apache Tribe and Librarian for American Indigenous Studies at Harvard’s Fine Arts Library. We will explore how weaving and storytelling intersect for many Indigenous nations in the United States and learn the history behind weaving materials used on this land for millennia. With Santos’s guidance, participants will practice foundational weaving techniques in community with one another. All materials will be provided. Recommended for youth ages 8 and up. This program can accommodate 25 weavers. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis on the day of the program. The entire party must be present to receive a ticket. The group is friendly and informal. How to get the print book: Copies of the print book are set aside at the Main Library Question and Answer desk on the ground floor. Visit the Main Library at 449 Broadway during service hours and a staff member can help you check out a copy. E-books and digital audiobooks are available on Libby or Hoopla. Since Friday, October 2, seven residents of a Cambridge skilled nursing facility have tested positive for COVID-19. Five of the seven individuals are current residents of the facility; the other two individuals were discharged from the facility prior to testing positive and no longer reside in Cambridge. In addition, one facility employee who does not reside in Cambridge has tested positive for COVID-19.
