The Office of Workforce Development offers a variety of programs to help residents ages 18 and older gain job experience and develop professional skillsets. OWD also provides career counseling, and job search supprt. Staff also facilitate job fairs and hiring events several times of year to connect Cambridge residents to the city's vibrant economy.

Bring the extra garden seeds you don't think you will plant this year! See what your neighbors have before you purchase more! We will have envelopes and pens to help keep them straight. If you don't have seeds, come anyway, as we will have extras. This event is co-hosted by Cambridge City Growers, a group of volunteers across Cambridge working to start up gardens in neighborhoods to increase access to healthy, organic, and locally grown food.

Please remember your email address and password, you will need them to sign in and practice during the class. Laptops will be provided for the class. In March 2024, the City Council passed Policy Order 2024 #37, which asked the Community Development Department “to work with the chairs of the Housing Committee to create zoning language that effectively promotes multifamily housing, including income-restricted affordable housing with the goal of having viable housing for everyone especially lower-income residents.” A series of Housing Committee meetings will be held to discuss the proposal throughout the summer and fall of 2024. Additional information will be posted here as the proposal is developed.

The Electrical Department approves banner attachments to poles in the public way.

The City is developing plans to renovate Russell Field and the adjacent practice field area. Plans include the resurfacing of both playing fields and site amenities to improve the functionality of the facility.

The City of Cambridge and MBTA have been working together to develop a maintenance improvement project to address the issues on the Russell Field Path which is owned and maintained by the MBTA.

This Unit enables the Department to strengthen its case management processes, support officers with topics such as mental health and youth development, and provide clinical oversight to the support services of the CPD.
