A 30-year-old Cambridge man was safely taken into custody and then transported to a local hospital last night following a reported armed assault. After the armed assault, he barricaded himself in his home until Cambridge Police officers were able to successfully enter and place the man into custody.

Four notable public safety responses have occurred since Friday. Each response involved residents who were struggling with mental health issues. Three of the four involved residents were armed.
