Today (August 23, 2021), the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the first COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccine has been known as the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine, and will now be marketed as Comirnaty (koe-mir’-na-tee), for the prevention of COVID-19 disease in individuals 16 years of age and older. The vaccine also continues to be available under emergency use authorization (EUA), including for individuals 12 through 15 years of age and for the administration of a third dose in certain immunocompromised individuals.

Many people look up health information online before talking to a clinician. Online health information can vary, from sources written by doctors to information shared by anyone who owns a device. In this class, Digital Navigators will teach about how to tell good sources of information from bad ones, including how to spot health fraud scams and bring information you find online to an appointment with your doctor. This class will be delivered by a DOORS program instructor. The survey, conducted since 2000, serves as an important evaluation tool that enables residents to rate City services and offer input on what the City of Cambridge does well and where it can improve.
