Romance Book Group Film Screening: Twilight
Preceding our October 14th discussion of Stephenie Meyer's Twilight, join us for a free screening of the 2008 film adaptation starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. Everyone is welcome, so please feel free to bring friends! We encourage audience participation! Quote reciting is a must for Twilight! Popcorn and drinks will be provided.
Summer Reading: Nature Story Time INDOORS (O'Neill)
Children and families can join us for a story time and exploration around the outdoor space around the Library to look for plant and animal life. Because of the weather, this program will happen inside the O'Neill Branch. This story time is presented as part of the Cambridge Public Library Nature Club.
Linocut Printmaking (Central Square)
In this class students will be introduced to the printmaking process of linocut. The class will cover techniques in carving linoleum, composition, ink mixing, and printing. At their own pace students will learn how to create a design and carve it in linoleum using carving tools. Students will learn how to ink and print their linoleum blocks by hand. In a relaxed and welcoming environment students will create many beautiful prints of their own as well as collaborate with their classmates. This class is suitable for beginners and can be adjusted for all levels of experience. This class is taught by Brooke Lambert. Brooke is a professional printmaker and painter. She holds a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design and shows her work widely in New England, New York, and beyond. Brooke works in Studio 291 at Western Avenue Studios & Lofts in Lowell, MA. She is currently represented by The Society of American Graphic Artists and Equity Gallery in New York, NY and Galaray House, contemporary art gallery in Lexington, MA. She has thirteen years of teaching experience and currently teaches adult art workshops and holds artist demos at several locations in New England.

The City of Cambridge has officially launched Sustainable Cambridge, a new initiative that encompasses all of Cambridge’s efforts to address climate change while keeping the community welcoming, neighborly, and beautiful. City of Cambridge, Cambridge Public Schools Celebrate Opening of the New Tobin Montessori and Darby Vassall Upper Schools and Community Complex
The City of Cambridge and Cambridge Public Schools (CPS) are proud to announce the opening of the new Tobin Montessori and Darby Vassall Upper Schools and Community Complex. Officially opening on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, the state-of-the-art building replaces the former school facility located between Vassal Lane, Concord Avenue, and Alpine Street in West Cambridge.
Robot Story Time with the Museum of Science (O'Neill)
Can a robot be a friend? Can a robot help do your chores? An educator from the Museum of Science leads Robot Storytime to explore these questions through an original story. After the story, participants can interact with a robot dog! No registration required. Recommended for ages 0-7 with a caregiver.
Summer Reading: Gross Science with the Poop Museum (O'Neill)
Prepare to be amazed and surprised by a presentation from the Poop Museum, where everyone learns many fantastic, fabulous and fun facts about human, animal and insect poop. Funding for Summer Reading has been generously provided by the City of Cambridge, Cambridge Public Library Foundation and Friends of the Cambridge Public Library.
